For the reason that recipe consists of actual butter (and sugar and chocolate…), I have to warn you that that is “largely” wholesome do-it-yourself granola. I’ve made this muesli a couple of instances over the previous month or so, bringing loads of samples to some very completely happy colleagues. The results of this recipe is a really mushy and chewy granola, in addition to filled with taste. (Completely helpful or not, this can be a nice various to packaged stuff!)
{Largely} wholesome do-it-yourself muesli
comes out 10-12 servings relying on the thickness tailored from
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups oats
- 3/4 cup wheat germ
- 3/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 2/3 cup brown sugar (I used mild as a result of I had it)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375°C. Unfold oatmeal and sunflower seeds on a 13 x 9 baking sheet. Toast 10 minutes. Take away from oven. In a medium saucepan over medium warmth, mix butter, sugar, coconut, and salt. Take away from hearth.
Pour the liquid combination right into a bowl and add the remainder of the components. Combine properly.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a silicone baking sheet (my greatest baking assist!). Then pour the combination again onto the baking sheet. Cowl with a chunk of aluminum foil or parchment paper and press down firmly.
Let the combination harden for a couple of hours or in a single day. Take away cowl and minimize into bars. My combination was so skinny it was extra like a cookie, which was really a lot simpler (and fewer messy) to eat. Granola stays contemporary and mushy for a couple of week when saved in an hermetic container.
